Breath – A Bridge to the Universe.
The breath is a wonderful takeoff point for moving into meditation. It is something we do from birth to death, even while asleep, whether we like it or not. It also reflects our energy, how we feel emotionally, our relaxation levels and so on.
In this group we will use many different techniques, from the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra, also known as The Book of Secrets, and other sources too. These methods include watching the inbreath and outbreath, being aware of the gaps between them, breathing as a therapeutic tool to become more aware of emotions, releasing energy, and vipassana, experiencing the cosmic energy of each breath!
“If you can do something with the breath, you will suddenly turn to  the present.If you can do something with breath you will attain to the source of life. If you can do something with the breath, you can transcend both time and space. If you can do something with the breath, you will be in the world and also beyond it.”  OSHO

About Ma Prem Pradeepa

Pradeepa took sannyas in 1975, and was asked by Osho to start the Vipassana retreats when the Multiversity was initiated at the end of that year. She had previously been sitting Vipassana in England, Sri Lanka and India. A year later, Osho asked her to also start Zazen retreats.

After the Multiversity divided into faculties, Pradeepa became co-director of the Meditation Academy  and as a meditation group leader she had ample opportunity to personally receive Osho’s guidance on different aspects of meditation. Over the years, Osho began to direct people to Pradeepa when they had questions on meditation. 

Since the 70’s, Pradeepa began creating many diverse meditation groups and trainings, continually adjusting the flavour and content, as the experience of sharing with so many friends continued to grow.

 As Meditation is not only sitting practice, but also the way in which life is lived,  created some extra structures and games to deepen the watching as simply and easily as possible.

Pradeepa was a medium for Osho during the energy darshan’s in the 70’s and organized the mediums in the 90’s. 

She has offered meditations in Pune, all over Europe and California.  She became known for her love, meditation, warmth and sense of humour.

This will be Pradeepa's second visit to Atlanta. She first visited last year. Scroll down for photo collage from 2012 workshop.


We will start with Active Osho Dynamic Meditation on both days at 8:45AM. Pradeepa will be guiding the group. No prior meditation experience is necessary. Detail guidance will be provided.

There will be ample time for Q&A, sharing.

Neo Sannyas and Energy Session
Saturday night is for a beautiful Sannyas initiation (if any Osho Lover wants to jump into Neo Sannyas - get a Osho Mala (wooden bead necklace with Osho's photo) and new name.

Dress recommendation
Lose clothing. Meditation robes preferred. If you have meditation robes then please bring both Maroon and White robes.

Cost - The Workshop is being arranged at cost price by Osho Lovers in Atlanta. The cost includes participation, all meals, space, media, air travel cost of the group leader and a respectable gift to the group leader from the entire group.
Weekend cost - $100 individual or $175 for a couple or family.
Senior Citizen, Student, Financial hardship - $75 for weekend
Partial days - It is highly recommended that you attend for the entire weekend. For 1 day or patial day the cost is $60.
The cost does not include overnight accomodation for out of town participants. Several hotel chains are just a few miles away.

a. Arrival and Departure - Please arrive on time. You may leave at anytime but please be watchful of others.

- This is a longer duration event. Please double park in drive way if space available otherwise please park near the pool. The pool is immediately to your right when you enter Creekside. Please do not park on the street.

- Please bring loaned books for exchange. We have a free share
d library pool of great books and media related to meditation and spirituality. If you have books / CD / DVD that you will like to share with others then please bring them. You will remain the owner of your material.

Osho Talk on Breath

Yoga calls it Prana. That word is beautiful..Yoga calls breathing Prana. Prana means the Elan Vital, the very vitality of your being. It is not just air coming and going through your lungs. Yoga says the air is just the outer layer of it. Hidden deep in that layer is vitality. So breathing has two parts. One: the body of breathing, made up of oxygen, nitrogen and so on, and, two, the spirit of breathing, made up of vitality, God himself.

It is just like - your body is there, and you, your consciousness, is hidden deep down in your body. The body is a protection, a vehicle. The body is the visible vehicle for the non-visible you. And the same is the case with every breath. The breath itself is just the outer layer; hidden deep in it is life itself. Once you discover that in breath there is hidden God himself you have come to know yourself. That's why there is so much insistence and so much search in yoga, Tao and tantra about breathing.

If you simply go on breathing and thinking that this is just air coming in and going out, you will never be able to penetrate the mystery of it. And you will remain completely oblivious of yourself. Then you will remain rooted in the body. You will never be able to know that which goes beyond the body, that which is within but yet beyond, that which is hidden in the body but not obstructed by the body, not limited by the body. A beyond within. In each breath that life has to be discovered. Yoga calls those methods Pranayama.

The word Pranayama means expansion of life. One has to expand life to infinity in each breath. Buddha has called his own methods of discovering the innermost core of breath Anapana-Sati yoga: the yoga, the science, of incoming and outgoing breath; and Buddha has said no other yoga is needed. If you can deeply watch your own breathing, and watch so meditatively that anything that is hidden in the breath does not remain hidden but becomes revealed, you will come to know all. Looks simple, but is difficult.

Buddha said to his monks: Sitting, walking, standing, whatever you are doing, continue doing these things, but let your consciousness be aware of the breath coming in, going out. Go on looking at your own breath -- one day with the very continuous hammering on the breath, the temple opens. God is hidden in the temple of the breath. Suddenly one day you become aware that it is not just air. If for you it is just air, you have a scientific mind but you don't have the awareness which can reveal the innermost core of it. Then you can analyse and come to know how much oxygen is needed, how much hydrogen, how much nitrogen, how much carbon dioxide, and you can go on playing with the body of the breath - but you missed the innermost real phenomenon.

That's why, if a man is dead, you can give him, pump into him, the right proportion of oxygen, but he will not be alive. Unless God breathes in it, unless it contains the innermost consciousness of the whole, it is a dead breath. Oxygen will pass through the lungs -- nothing will happen. Breath is the first action - and it is not your action.

    Pradeepa created tools and pressed the right buttons of the participating meditator to bring out the core issue a meditator is facing and then guided the meditator to the solution. She took the group through various breath related meditations from the Vigyan Bairav Tantra and created group based exercises for intense breath work.
    Some of us felt Osho’s presence and energy very strong throughout the session. The Sannyas and energy celebration was very sweet and 4 friends got initiated into new Sannyas. With fewer than usual participants in this workshop Pradeepa was able to do energy work on individual participants that made the sessions very deep. Deepest gratitude to Osho and Pradeepa for making this transmission happen. Love
