We live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and the
weather has been great this year.

I know I'd much prefer have events where we go out, enjoy the warm
weather, see the city and do actual mapping, rather than sit in an
fluorescent-lit room on my computer.

There are many areas of the US where there is no local community, and
they need the edit-a-thons to try to build awareness of the project at
all, or times when the weather does not permit mapping, and certainly I
think we can have a backup plan, but I think I'd prefer to go out like
we did last month and map. It brings new people out to our events, it
brings out the heavy mappers, and it brings people closer together as a
community.
