Nature walk in the NCC Greenbelt trails

Come enjoy the stark refreshing beauty of November in the greenbelt with fellow humanists. The NCC trails are well groomed and there is ample free parking. Bring bird-seed if you want to entice a chickadee or twelve to feed right out of your hands. Dress according to the weather. Bring your hounds. We'll meet in the parking lot at 2pm. Hike will begin at 2:15 sharp. See you there!

For more info about the trails check out:

UPDATE: P20 is across the street from NRC's Geological Survey of Canada building located at 2617 Anderson Rd.

Call me a fair weather sissy, but slogging through boggy terrain in a snowstorm doesn't lend itself to the sort of casual conversation I was looking forward to. I hope there'll be another such opportunity under more clement conditions in the future. Cheers.

Hi everyone, the hike is still on! For those coming, some parts of the trail may be a little muddy, dress for the wet weather and drive safely on the roads. See you there at 2!

Weather forecast looks pretty bad. No consideration of a snow date?

Val and I have to walk our dog anyway. If the roads are dangerous we'll cancel as soon as that happens, otherwise we'll be there.

I won't be going but I will be dropping off my daughter and grand-daughter (4 years.) I thought perhaps I could take a group photo before you all set off. Just an interesting foot note - these bogs were used for testing bombs during World War II.

The trails we are going to are on the west side of Anderson Rd. off of P20. The bogs (the conservation area) are very close by, but on the east side of Anderson. If enough people want to go to the conservation area we can hop over, but there are no dogs allowed there so I won't be able to, because I'm bringing my Greyhound.

I hope to attend. Please note, however, that the link to the map for this event does not show the accurate location of P20.
