What we’re about
Join us and participate in online book discussions as well as free mindfulness classes. Books chosen cover topics such as mindfulness, compassion and Buddhism. Books we have discussed in the past include "Radical Compassion" by Tara Brach, "Where Ever You Go There You Are" by Jon Kabat-Zinn, "Real Change" by Sharon Salzberg and "You Are Here" by Thich Nhat Hanh. Mindfulness classes are taught by veteran mindfulness teacher, Sarah Vallely, author of four books on the topic of meditation and mindfulness. Sarah and Jacob, co-organizers, are also co-hosts of a podcast, The Aware Mind. Sarah and Jacob love reading books on the topics of Buddhism and mindfulness in a community setting. They would love to create community with you to discuss these books.

Sarah Vallely has been teaching mindfulness for 21 years and hosts The Aware Mind Podcast. This meditation group meets on the third Saturday of each month. Attending the group is free. This group is for anyone who is interested in developing a sitting mindfulness practice or supporting their current practice in community. You do not need to attend every month to gain the benefits from this meditation group.
During this meeting Sarah will be discussing the fundamentals of TSD Mindfulness, which is a practice in Taming the mind, Soothing the Gut and Dwelling in the heart. This practice is based on traditional mindfulness techniques, with additional methods for soothing your nervous system and added emphasis on self-compassion. This specialized form of mindfulness practice is especially helpful for healing anxiety and past trauma.
This class correlates well with our TSD Mindfulness YouTube Playlist. And if you would like to receive the Zoom link directly from Sarah, register at our webpage: TSDMind.org/Group
Future meetings will include instruction on various TSD Mindfulness topics such as:
- Mindfulness of sound, physical sensations, & breath
- Emotional healing with mindfulness
- Disengaging from thoughts with mindfulness
- Tips for concentration
- Soothing your nervous system
- Self-compassion for self-induced pressure
- Awareness of your divine life force energy
