What we're about
If you think Nature > Netflix, you’re in the right spot! We’re here to spend our weekends outdoors doing awesome things that make us feel really alive! Sure, the world may be burning, but we like to keep a positive attitude and remember that life is fun.
Our goal is to help people reach their full potential through fun, challenging outdoor activities such as backpacking, canoeing, cycling, fly fishing, sailing, and more!
These trips are more than just a good time, they’re also educational. We are mapping out comprehensive mini-courses such as bike maintenance, and intro to backpacking, that graduate with a weekend trip! So if you are interested in a new-to-you outdoor sport, but aren’t comfortable diving in yet, we can help you achieve your goals!
Even if you don’t know how to tie a bowline or throw a bear bag, you’ll learn all the skills you need so that you feel comfortable going on our trips and making new friends that also poop in the woods.
Our events are open to anyone interested in the activity, however, many of the activities inherently require certain gear (can be borrowed or rented) and a baseline level of physical ability. Use your best judgement when signing up for a trip.
We believe in challenge by choice: this is where one gets far enough out of their comfort zone to grow as a person, but not so far that they are terrified, get injured, etc.
We focus primarily on overnight trips…there are plenty of day hike groups…we’re turning up the heat a little bit.
We hold pre-trip meetings/socials/happy hours on a weekday, so everyone can get to know each other and get on the same page for the trip plan. These are open to everyone, even if they are not going on this week’s trip (they’re a great way to meet like minded people!) If you are going on this weekend’s trip, and haven’t joined us previously, it is strongly recommended to come to a social and introduce yourself!
