OSWEGO RIVER, Lets take advantage of the past rains -- Lets go!

Details

This trip is down the Oswego River, from Oswego Lake to Harrisville Lake.

This trip includes portage over a dam and is for intermediate and experienced paddlers. It is an adventure and we never know what we will find. We should have good water after the rains.

We will start at the Oswego Lake Parking Lot, and drop off our boats. Then we shuttle to Harrisville Lake, and drop off cars. Volunteers will agree to drive back to the lake, and we will kindly give them a ride at the end of the day. Shuttle is not part of the club trip. Meet by 9:15 to sign in, unload boats and set up Shuttle. Back at Oswego lake to put in by 10.

This is a good trip for intermediate and advanced paddlers, not recommended for new folks due to debris, hazards and water height. Guests are welcome! This is typically a 5-hour trip, approximately 8 miles. The river is winding and has decent water currently. It can be low during some times of the year, so we need to run it while we can. There is usually beautiful flora and fauna along the way and historic sites to be seen. We will be stopping along the way for lunch and enjoying the sunshine.

Requirements:

  • water
  • sunscreen
  • hat
  • lunch
  • pfd (life jacket) -- this is mandatory!
  • change of clothes

We will be running a volunteer shuttle to park the cars down at Harrisville Lake.
Pin is not accurate. Oswego road will get you there. Parking lot on right after paved road turns to dirt.
