Gloucester Park Trail @5-5.25 miles brisk Hike
Details
This will be roughly a 5-5.5 mile hike at a pace of 21-23 minute miles. We will be walking the perimeter plus other paths and going up and down a few hills. The paths are narrow. There are roots, stones, and leaves. This path is used by mountain bikers, but hopefully, we do not see many on the trail at this time of year. There are a lot of areas of hills, so do suggest hiking poles if you are unsure.
This is a brisk, fast, quick pace. Know your limits. If you can do 3 miles in 1 hour with no stopping, you will be fine. No scheduled breaks. This is more of a fitness hike than a casual stroll or a photography tour. Please know your abilities! Our insurance covers you if you can maintain the advertised pace and stay between the leader and sweep.
Only the current paid outdoor club of South Jersey members are allowed to attend.
Highly recommend hiking boots/shoes, poles if needed. Use whatever insect prevention you feel comfortable with.
There are bathrooms located at the park.
I like to start on time so please try to arrive by 945 to use bathroom if needed, any clothing adjustments, safety briefing, introduction, and any other last minute items.
Of course if inclement weather (rain, ice, falling snow), I will cancel by 7am that morning.
