REI has their Winter Trails Day on this date from 11am to 4pm. That event is an opportunity to try out snowshoes and learn more about what to do in the winter. So I thought it would be a great chance to do some snowshoeing (or hiking if limited snow) after people have tried out some snowshoes. (This snowshoe hike will be a bit longer than what REI is giving.)
We'll meet in the shelter where the REI event is being held and then take off from there for about an hour or two of snowshoeing.
Snowshoeing is a great workout and based on research, burns more calories than biking or running. So grab some hot cocoa in the shelter and burn it off afterwards.
Please "No dogs" when snowshoeing. However, if there isn't enough snow we'll hike. FYI - REI will probably still hold their event if there isn't enough snow.
