There’s been a lot of interest in Snowshoeing , So ………

Let's head out for an afternoon of fun just across the border again.
Willow River State Park is a beautiful Wisconsin park located a few minutes outside of Hudson. For those who remember it from Summer, We'll be in for a treat with the snow & ice formations

We’ll spend the first 30 minutes getting familiar with ‘Basic’ snowshoeing techniques.

After romping around the river front area near the parking area we’ll head out to see Willow Falls.

The trail offers some very pretty sights, so you might want to bring a camera also!!

We'll be headed through the Burkhardt Trail which is on the North side. Once done admiring the Falls we'll head back to visit one, two, or all three of the overlooks to see the deep gorges.

Most of the trail out & back is flat so it’s a great way to get your basic snowshoe skills honed.
Since we'll be starting at Burkhardt we'll be headed downhill to see the Falls, and then uphill to get to the gorges. No worries though - it'll be fun and a little exhilarating !

There’s a store in Minnetonka – “Minnetonka Bike & Ski” that may be closing, and sells Snowshoes. You might be able to make a deal with the owner (who is there everyday) on a pair

Remember to bring water, and trail mix or a snack. We’re not just hiking, we’ll be burning energy dealing with Winter conditions.
