Hiking Holy Mountains in Ireland

In 2008, Shelby traveled to Ireland with her half-brother to trace his Irish heritage and pass on her love of travel. They decided to hike traditional pilgrimages on two holy peaks -- one Christian, one pagan. Beset by bad weather, bad advice and bad outfits, they nevertheless managed to finish the routes. Along the way, they encountered mystery tombs, long-lost relatives, an ancient curse, and the world's most adorable dog.

This lively multimedia presentation combines history, mythology and humor to share a lesser-known side of Ireland. You just might end up inspired to plan an Irish odyssey of your own.

Roads are slick. Be careful driving today! Presentation is in Hanson Hall @ UMN. Nice afternoon out from the elements --

Your organizer is sick today! I'm not going to cancel the event as I really want to hear what people learned. So please consider posting your comments and if this is a place that may interest other hikers. Thanks!
