Leytonstone to Highams Park - Circular Green Walk & (optional) Pub

We're meeting for a coffee 11am at The Walnut Tree (Wetherspoon), which is near Leytonstone Station, and also close to lots of bus routes (see below).

After a coffee, we'll set off for a green walk through forest, parklands and river to the actual park itself in Highams Park. We'll stop there for a while at Humphreys indoor/outdoor café, and then begin our circular walk back via the other side of the lake. We'll be ending the walk back at The Walnut Tree for some optional well deserved food and/or drink.

The estimated finish time does allow for time in the pub, where I expect to return to by about 4pm

If you haven't already paid for the whole of May, I ask for a nominal contribution of £2 to help cover Meetup organiser fees. No shrapnel please.

If you are driving to the meet point, Mornington Road - E11 3BE (nearly opposite the pub) has no parking restrictions on a Saturday.

If you're on the Central Line, come out of Leytonstone station and walk a couple of minutes up Church Rd. Turn left onto the High St, and the pub is on your left.

If you are coming by bus, get off at the Green Man Roundabout stop a couple of minutes from the pub

The 66 bus runs from Romford station, up North St, and straight down the A12 (via Newbury Park, Gants Hill) to Leytonstone.

Chadwell Heathers. Get a 62, 362, or 173 up to A12 for a 66 (or walk through if close enough).

The 145 bus goes from Dagenham via Barking and Ilford to Leytonstone.

The pub is also served by a 257 from Walthamstow; W12 from Walthamstow or Woodford; W13 from Woodford; and a W19 from Ilford.
