A grand day out: Words, Pictures and Music night at Art Jericho.

A small but delightfully accommodating gallery situated just off the main drag in Jericho, hosts an intriguing sounding evening of spoken word, music and pictures from Magdalene Arts Group Studios (see OAG:RE review: http://oagre.wordpress.com/2013/03/01/411/

The evening offers another chance to see spoken word wizardess, Tina Sederholm, who wowed us all at last Sunday's Arts Group social, alongside Jericho Poets' magnificent Jennifer McGowan, and to enjoy the musical talents of cello and bandoneon supremo Bruno Guastalla and other members of Oxford Improvisers.

The event also features an appearance by Alan Buckley, author of the Poetry Book Society pamphlet choice for summer 2009.

Arrive for 7:00 to meet in the venue. Look out for signs if you're new to the group, or call[masked] to find us before 7.30.

Hello people. Anna, I know, when I heard the word flugelhorn, I thought it was a curseword in a foreign language. You can imagine my relief or not (raised right eyebrow) when the musical instrument appeared. This was actually my first arts meet and I was a little nervous of what to expect if I'm honest, but I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and spoke with lots of smiley faces which was nice and the people who helped set it up were so lovely. A good time was had!

Yes, it certainly was fun, a highly entertaining evening, there was the good, the bad, and the downright ear-splitting!

Eclectic and enjoyable evening, featuring everything from the inspired to the amusing and even occasionally the unpalatable. Amazing turn out from the arts group. They'll have to put out more chairs next time (and get more bottles in). Thanks in particular to Bruno Guastalla and the other members of Azut, Tina Sederholm, who gets better and better, Rose and Paul for their hospitality and their art, and Claudia and co for putting it all together.

Friendly, intimate little venue. 'Different' music and poetry. As usual great company and conversations.

Looking at the map, King's Street doesn't look anywhere near 'off the main drag in Jericho'. Think I'll sue under Trades Descriptions Act.

OK so it's off Great Clarendon Street and not off Banbury Road as Google maps would have it. OK I won't sue :-)
