We've all seen the Ricardo Breceda sculptures in the desert, but did you know he has an outdoor gallery and art garden near Temecula?
Join us in getting up close and personal with his creations of all sizes. We will meet at his outdoor gallery at 9 a.m. to photograph the sculptures, then head to Old Town Temecula to do a bit more shooting and perhaps have lunch before heading home.
Shooting the sculptures will be challenging! There are many pieces of various sizes, and you'll need to be aware of camera angles and background sculpture photobombing. Some options are to bring a zoom to get in tight, shoot with aperture wide open to get a blurred background, or plan to shoot details. (The photo above was shot with a cell phone - note the clutter!!)
He and/or his assistants may be working on site, so you may be able to get some action shots too.
Keep in mind this is his gallery - there is no charge to photograph the pieces, but donations are welcome (there is a donation box on the entrance gate). Or, buy a piece of art on your way out! And please give him a shoutout if you post on social media.
More information on the artist and his work can be found here: http://ricardobreceda.com/
