Bring water and snacks. A splash jacket and extra dry shirt is always a good practice. Dress for the water and air temps. No cotton clothing. PFD/life vests are required and social distancing respected.

  • Halloween Paddle Fundraiser for the Cumberland River Compact's River Cleanups

    We are hosting a Halloween Costume Paddle fundraiser with Cumberland Kayak! Proceeds from kayak rentals will directly benefit the Cumberland River Compact's stream cleanups.

    Tickets are available for the following times: 10am , 11am, 12p, and 1pm. For each shift, there are just 10 kayak rental spots available so that we adhere to social distancing guidelines. Have your own kayak/SUP? There are also a few bring-your-own-boat spots available. Grab your ticket before trips fill up!

    For our Halloween paddle, we will be launching right out of Cumberland Park. We'll paddle around under the bridges and downtown skyline, while taking some great photos. Bring a Halloween costume! Dogs in costume with boat experience are welcome, but must have a life jacket and be leashed while not kayaking. Prizes for best costume and pet costume will be announced after the event.

    COVID-19 Info: Staff will sanitize all equipment after each use. Proper distancing is required between staff and different parties. Customers are required to wear masks during check-in and when interacting with others for everyone’s safety. The entire process is contactless: waivers, check-in, and equipment pickup.
    Arrival: Meet at the East Bank at Cumberland Park 10 minutes before your departure time to allow time for parking, costume prep, and waivers.

    Included: Kayak, paddle, life jacket.

    Bring: Halloween Costume, Mask, Hand Sanitizer, Sunscreen, Water Bottle, Ziplock bag for phone etc., Sunglasses, Shoes and clothes that can get wet, Phone (Optional. We're not responsible for lost or damaged phones).

    Let's leisurely paddle around a few islands while enjoying the view of the full moon against the night sky and it's reflection on the water. We will paddle about 2 miles and stop at one of the islands for a half hour. This will be a great time to enjoy the view and a snack if you choose to bring one.

    You must have at least one White light which can be seen from any direction or one light in front and one light in the back of your kayak.
    A strong light inside you boat (simple flashlight) is a great addition.

    Let's enjoy this beautiful day by leisurely paddling around a few islands for three hours. we will stop at an island less 2 miles out. You can stay and relax here or continue to others. We will paddle back to island, regroup and return to the Long Hunter State Park Ramp.
