Wilderness Waterway Outside/Inside Route - ENP to Flamingo

  • to

  • Needs a location

  • Lets plan this. People come from all over to do this but few locals have done this route. 4 nights camping and average 20 mile per day paddling.

Please check the discussion section relative to the possible specifics of this paddle The date set for this is a range. I anticipate 12 - 20 miles per day and 4 nights on the water and perhaps a night at Flamingo. I started a discussion thread so those of intersted can discuss it and put something togetehr.

Phares, read all comments from last year, it's a good start. Frank's right, if you're not paddling the "Wilderness Waterway" trail your trip title should be Everglades City (or Chokoloskee) to Flamingo kayak camping trip. I'm glad you're considering slowing the pace up. From Pavilion to Flamingo you'll paddle through pristine wilderness, it would be a shame to race through it. I have paddled Flamingo to Chokoloskee on the outside.

Personally Phares I kind of liked your proposed route. I know we can't say afterward we paddled the "wilderness waterway" in the strict sense, but it's still a good part of the WW, plus we'll get more variety doing some island camping too. And personally, I wouldn't mind adding an extra day to give us more time to enjoy the trip instead of going on such long hauls. Other than that I like your route.

Thanks, the wilderness waterway was really devised for power boats. I'll be looking back on these plans and yea, adding a day or so is definitely in order.

Adriana, I am sure we can make room for 6 so consider yourself in since you are # 6. Some Chickee's max out at 6 and others are double meaning two parties with a max of 6 each. If many more wanted to go we could perhaps break it up into two groups somehow. This far in advance its hard to tell if all who RSVP will be able to come so we are in the planning stage. Make sure you check out the discussion link and add your input.

Please don't hesitate to sign on the waiting list for this trip. It is a long way off and we may be able to accommodate more or form to groups. Either way, I would like to see how much interest there is in this route.
