TradShare 2011

  • Feb 26, 2011 · 2:00 PM
  • Westside U.U.C.

The Tradition Sharing Day has multiple goals. First and foremost is its original goal--to educate the Pagans, Neopagans, and those interested in Paganism about what the area has to offer in the way of groups. It also is here to allow people who are looking for a group the opportunity to find out which ones are open to new members and what is required of them to start on that path. Additionally, it provides a chance for folks who normally do not have the ability to socialize in a Pagan-friendly setting to see old friends and make new ones. In this digital age, many of the locals never communicate with each other except by e-mail or phone. COME -- Our goal with the TradShare is to provide an opportunity for local people and groups who are interested in Paganism, Neopagan, Magickal, and spiritual experiences to meet and get to know each other. LEARN -- We want to create a safe place for everyone to experience each other diversity. TEACH -- There is no better way to teach than by example and involvement in our community. JOIN -- Whether it is joining a group or just becoming part of the greater community, experience our local diversity. SHARE -- a little of yourself with all of us. . . .

I thought it was very lovely. Everyone was so open and friendly. My group thought it was nice as well and happy they could be in a place and not be looked down upon.

It's always great to see our community out and mingling - greeting old friends and warmly welcoming new comers and visitors. Most folks don't realize what a tremendous variety of beliefs and people we have available.

I wish to thank everyone that attended the event and everyone that worked so hard to make it happen. It was great seeing old friends and making a few new ones. This event and Pagan Pride are the most important events we do to drawing new members into our commuity and to explain our paths to their family. Thanks again

Very nice venue and setup for the event. Also a very round representation of our community's traditions. I saw several who were new to the area or first time curious which I feel always makes such an event worth while. Looking forward to seeing it again next year.

In reference to the questions about Tuatha Dea, we do not have performances at the TradShare as the sanctuary space will be filled with local pagan groups that are there to share information about their groups. We will have drumming after the ritual as is our usually course of action, We are sure if any of the member of Tuatha Dea are in attendance, they will bring their drums, as should everyone else.
