Hellenic Witches Society, Study of the Greek Mysteries.

Once a month we will be gathering for a public study and discussion group, to study the Greek Mysteries of the God or Goddess of the month. We will begin with the twelve Olympians, who each have a month of the year dedicated to them. We greatly encourage that if you plan on attending that you partake in your own personal study's to better prepare yourself for participation in our discussions. You will find we always incorporate participation from others. It’s just more fun that way, and besides that way you will be guaranteed to gain some knowledge, which happens to be the entire point!

February is the month of Aphrodite. We will be lecturing on the many different aspects of the love Goddess, and her importance to Hellenic practice as well as her part in magical working. We hope you will join us in the mysteries of the love Goddess.

We are changing the venue of this monthly event to the Kress Gallery.

The other place just did not work out, to many interruptions and distractions. Our apologizes for not posting this event sooner, to give you all more time to plan, we will do so in the future.

I had really wanted to come, but ended up moving. Looking forward to the next one though!

I found this to be a very informative meetup. I learned that Aphrodite is certainly a much more complex goddess than what is most commonly believed about her. And I was very surprised to find out that she is also associated with so many other things such as death and marriage/procreation. Aphrodite is not the 'love goddess' that history and Hollywood have made her into. I look forward to the next god/goddess introdution. Thank you Sally for sharing you knowledge!
