Let's pair-up with co-founders

  • Aug 16, 2012 · 5:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

We are happy to announce our first meetup, at this meetup we would like to focus on you.

Please read carefully before RSVP!

As a member of The Israeli Founders pair-up group we know that team up with the right co-founders is crucial for you and random mingling in social event is not enough. In our group’s meetups we would like to be as much efficient as possible and to respect your time. For that, we are going to change few rules and to make the invitation procedure a bit different - Success depends on your level of cooperation.
We are going to invite you in stages the same as airlines do boarding to an airplane.
Each invitation stage will be open for founders with specific skills, For example: We will start “boarding” founders with marketing & bizdev skills, pause for evaluation, continue “boarding” with technology founders, etc. Don’t get confused, all invitations are to the same event. Once we are happy with the variety of RSVPs will we close the event. As you may know, the meetup platform does not allow inviting specific members to event, so in order to make the best pair-up event we ask you to respect our choice to fine tune approved RSVPs and to postpone some to a later event, Please don’t take it personally.
Our only motivation is to make the best pair-up event in terms of professional skills matchups.
In the event itself we will address the personality aspect by giving you tools to make the right choice.

Let’s get started!

Meetup subject: Mobile or Web ventures.
Invitation stage: Only members with marketing or business development skills
Spots available: 10 (If full, please put yourself on waiting list)

Who should apply to this invitation?
Only Marketing or Business development founders who are looking for or have venture in Mobile or Web domains.

Meetup agenda:
We honor your need for privacy and we will not ask you to fill up forms or to pitch about your venture. We do need to ask you about your personality and skills, for that we prepared a short questionnaire that will be distributed at the beginning of this meetup event. We will not collect the questionnaire, it’s for your own use.

17:15 - 17:30 Questionnaire

Great initiative, very productive and efficient. Anyone looking to pair-up with a co-founder, either for his own venture or to join one - highly suggested.

The event was organized in a very friendly and casual atmosphere. I really enjoyed the introduction part and the character test. I found it important for the next time to keep a good ratio of technical/non-technical members, but also between 'having a venture'/'looking to join a venture' members. Thank you for organizing the event!

I think these kinds of meetups can really help find co-founders.
The main parameter for the right mix, should be if the person is looking to join as co-founder or is looking for co-founder to join him (instead of business vs. technical).

The meetup was very good. It was well organized, provided background supporting material, and the right environment to conduct this sort of meetup. Shlomi & Meytal were great hosts facilitating founders' "speed dating".
    Thank you!

  • Omer R.

    Hi Shlomi, Meytal,

I would appreciate it if you could clarify today's agenda - Is there some type of pair-up, like speed dating, maybe matches made by you, or is it more focused on giving us tools that will allow us to better find the co-founder?

    August 16, 2012

    • Shlomi S.

      All of the above!
At the first part of the event we will give tools and on the second part we will conduct short meetings like speed dating where you can implement those tools.

      August 16, 2012

  • Yaniv O. is developing IT support marketplace for professionals. We are strong in business and IT looking for a 3rd technical co-founder who is both hands-on programmer (LAMPA) and has a broad systems view.

I am looking for a strong and a creative DBA to be a co-founder CTO at my project.
Is DBA is the issue of this meetup?

    August 7, 2012

    • sharon r.

      Is the 16aug meet up is about DBA's co-founders? CTO's co-founders?

      August 7, 2012

    • Shlomi S.

The meetup will be focus on matching up marketing, biz dev and technical founders. Please refer to the event's details, all is well written there. Good luck!
