Ford/Mesqite Canyon Loop Day Hike - White Tank Mountains

Ford/Mesquite Canyon Loop. TD: Around 7 miles. EC: Roughly 1300'. Pace: Mild.

This is one of my favorite trails in the local area. It is a bit of a challenge, so be sure you are up to it! We will hike clockwise starting on the Mesquite Trail from Area 7, then connect on to the Willow Springs trail and finally the Ford Canyon Trail.

This trail is rated "C". That means 3-8 miles with a[masked]' elevation change. This trail has many different terrains, from boulder hopping to loose gravel scree, to larger rocky areas. Please DO NOT WEAR SNEAKERS! You will need good sturdy hiking boots!!!

Water is not available on the trail, so please pack at least 1/2 gallon.

For more info on the rating system, please read:

http://www.meetup.com/Arizona-Sierra-Club-Singles/about/

All trails in Arizona are very rocky, and most have large areas where there is no shade. Temperatures vary with season, and sometimes can get unseasonably warm even in winter. You must wear comfortable clothes to hike in, good hiking boots (i.e no sneakers, street shoes, sandals), bring plenty of water and food for the trail**.

Meal in Glendale afterwards.

Any questions, please e-mail me at [masked]

I'm sorry Dan didn't get my posting on Saturday that a foot problem kept me from going. I didn't know how to e-mail him personally.
