Celebrate International Year of the Bat!

Join us to celebrate International Year of the Bat (2012) and to learn more about Arizona's endangered species!

Bill Burger with the Arizona Game and Fish Department will lead us into the wonderful world of Arizona's bats. Learn more about the 28 mysterious bat species that call Arizona home, why they are important, and various aspects of bat management, including bat houses and management of abandoned mines.

We will also have a brief discussion about Endangered Species Day, which is approaching on May 18. Find out what you can do to help protect our endangered species!

Wine and snacks will be provided. This is also a great opportunity to see the beautiful Audubon facility!

For more information, please contact Tiffany Sprague at (602)[masked] or [masked] or Ute Brady at (480)[masked] or [masked].

We look forward to seeing you there!

I wrongly assumed at least part of this involved seeing bats outside there, with record heat. Sorry I missed it.

To all who were wondering -- This is an indoor event only. You're welcome to explore some of the outside at the gorgeous Audubon facility, but the presentation, mingling, and snacks will be indoors. Hope to see you all there!

I had thought of attending this, but with mid-summer temperatures instead of normal mid-May weather, I'll have to pass. It'll be way too hot to do anything outdoors, even around sunset. :(
