Sooo, You Wanta Get Pickled??? :) Let's play some Pickleball!!! :)

Hey Everyone

Please Note: This is now a Free-Style Event which means there is no Host or Organizer schedule to attend at this time.

Soooo, you wanta get "pickled"???… :)

Okay so here are the initial details:

The Game: Pickleball is a great fun game that is like a cross between small tennis courts and ping pong. Solid paddles and a wiffle ball are used. Doubles or two people per team what we will play.  If you play for one or two hours in this Florida heat, you will be covered in sweat by the time to head for home. So be ready for a great workout while having a blast in Paradise!!!

Location: East Naples Community Park. Take East Trial to Rattlesnake/Thomasson Dr. This intersection has two cross streets: Rattlesnake to the north and Thomasson to the south.  There is a Publix, CVS, 7-11 and a Wellfargo bank at this intersection. Take Thomasson to the Park which will be on the left in about 1 mile or so.

Start time 6:00pm…End time: 8pm-ish or later….

Costs: $3 to rent a paddle if you need one.

Finer details:  I was told these are nice $70 to $80 paddles so you will need to leave your driver license when you pick one up.  To get your paddle go into the Park Office which is the first building on the left and tell them you are with Another Day in Paradise.  They have 15 to 17 paddles.  Paddles must be turn in by 8PM as the office closes but not the park. If we have more players than paddles we will rotate players in and out as games usually last less than 15 minutes.  There are 42 courts at this location so there is no issues with courts. Once you have your paddle, we will be at the Pickleball courts which are to the left of the Park Office at the back south end of the park. We will start off at the courts on the right as the experienced player not with our group play on the courts to the left. We will review the basic rules with anyone who is new to the game and start play by knocking some Pickleballs around.

Items to bring: Hat, sunglasses, sun screen, bug spray, hydration (i.e. LOTS of water), a small towel to wipe yourself when you get sweaty, ball gowns or tuxedos are recommended, a great attitude and be ready to have fun…. :)  The Park does sell bottled water.

Now for the HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT!!! :(

Read the Rule Book at:

http://ipickleball.org/rules/pbrules-ifp.pdf

Skip the sections on material specifications for the court, net, paddle, etc…..

There will be a quiz!!!…..All essay and NO multiple choice or fill in the blanks!!!  :)

For post-game drinks and food, I would suggest we try the Foxboro Sports Tavern 4420 Thomasson Dr which is in the Publix shopping center on

Thanks and hope to see you there….
