Hey Everyone -

We are making some minor changes to the format of our Thursday night Pickleball gathering....

Starting Thursday July 12, 2018, the schedule will be as follows:

5:30 - 6:30 PM Teaching time for New Players
6:00 - 6:30 PM Warm-up games for Players with at least some
6:30 - 8:00 PM All Players

The 5:30-6:30 time period will be used to help all new players understand the basics of the game of Pickleball, including: rules, strategy, and scoring. If you have never played before, this would be a great opportunity to get a handle on a game that you are going to love for many reasons and years to come.

The 6:00 - 6:30 time period will be for players with some experience on the courts, including recent beginners who understand the rules, can volley the ball, and have played before. We will start warm-up games with whoever shows up.

From 6:30 - 8:00 (or later for the die-hards), we will play round robin style games. (Round Robin = 4 players on a court / 3 games total / each game with with a different partner).

We will do our best to set up games that will be competitive at the different skill levels. We want to encourage newer players by helping them to develop their skills, while keeping the games interesting enough for those with more advanced skills.

Some important reminders:

Stay hydrated!! Drink plenty of water before, during, and after we play....

Insect repellant - the no-see-ums can be brutal at times.....

Paddles can be rented at the park office (the large building on your left as you drive in) for $3 plus your driver's license. The office closes at 8PM. So if you want your license back that night, don't miss closing time. Please post if you have extra paddles to loan out.

*** Here's a fairly decent Youtube Video that explains the "Kitchen" or Non-Volley Zone . There are also many other videos that explain the basics that will make more sense after you've been on the court a couple of times.

Hope to see you there....
