 \n***“A soulful\, commanding voice”* \\- The New Yorker**\n**SUSAN AND
ERS: vocals-guitar**\n**TOM MANCHE: vocals-guitar**\n**CHAZZ FRICHTEL: bas
s-vocals**\nSanta Fe singer/songwriter Susan Anders celebrates her newly\n
functioning right hand at “The Happy Hand Show”\, playing songs from\n
her 2025 release NOW I’M A KITE as well as from her large catalogue of\n
originals. Her husband Tom Manche opens with a set of his own\nsometimes h
ilarious\, sometimes poignant songs.\nIn July 2025 Anders released her fif
th solo album **NOW I’M A KITE** to\nglowing reviews and several puns:
“Susan Anders soars with NOW I'M A\nKITE” Ryan Emmert/World Music Cent
 ral\, “NOW I'M A KITE takes Anders\nto new heights.” Lee Zimmerman/bla
nknews.com. Though many of the\nsongs were inspired by the passing of her
father in 2022 she was in great\nspirits in 2025\, enjoying life in her ne
w home of Santa Fe\, NM. That fall\nshe started to feel pain in her right
thumb and middle finger learned that\nshe had two trigger fingers\, and un
til surgery in February 2026 she could\nbarely play guitar or piano. The P
aradiso show is her first performance\nsince her hand recovery. In additio
n to Manche she will be backed by\nSanta Fe bassist/singer Chazz Frichtel\
, who played with Michael\nMcDonald for 19 years as well as with Chuck Man
gione\, Wilson/Phillips.\nWhile her hand was out of commission Anders turn
ed to vocal arranging:\nher piece “A Wave That Rocks Me” was premiered
by The Zia Singers in\nJanuary of 2026.\nAnders is known for her smart ly
rics\, moving vocals\, and Americana meets\nfolk/pop/jazz sound. Her lyric
al focus is less on young love\, more on mid-life\nissues like reinvention
 \, forgiveness\, healing\, materialism\, and mourning. As\nDirty Linen wro
te: *“This is music for adults: smart\, witty\, and insightful.”*\nHer
influences are vast and include Joni Mitchell\, Laura Nyro\, Leonard Cohe
 n\, and\nother great 70s singer-songwriters\, the Motown and Beatles she h
eard growing\nup\, and recent artists like Phoebe Bridgers and Kimbra.\nAn
ders grew up in Berkeley\, California\, collected degrees from UC Santa Cr
uz\nand SF State\, then spent her twenties singing\, playing\, and writing
for a\ncappella\, rock\, jazz\, and Motown bands that played throughout n
orthern\nCalifornia. She also paid her bills by delivering singing telegra
ms wearing a\ntable around her waist\, and teaching doo-wop songs to Buddh
ist monks. After\nmoving to Los Angeles in 1990 and meeting her future hus
band Tom Manche\,\nthey formed\, toured\, and recorded with their band Sus
