I love the idea of going to the Y and then to the diner.  We're out of town on Feb 15, so I hope we can plan to do this another time.

Do you know if the Y has any activities for tweens?  (I have two boys, ages 6 and 12).   Miriam

Hector -

Your e-mail describes me.  I have a 4-year-old daughter.  Thus, all my time is dedicated to my daughter, leaving little -- if any -- social life.  Nevertheless, I wold love to mix and mingle with other parents.  So, with that, here are my ideas.

1.)  I'd be willing to host a small playdate (4-5 kids) at my place in Tribeca.  However, I need to know that other parents who'd attend would return the invite.  I don't want to be the only person hosting.  Thus, if we could get a group of parents together (4-5) and set up some sort of rotating play date schedule.  (e.g., One time my house, next time your house, the third time someone else's house.....)

2.)  The McBurney YMCA (14th Street, between 6th & 7th Avenues) hosts "Family Time" on Sundays from 4:30-6:30.  It's great.  They put balls, arts & crafts, etc.....It's free for members, but $15 (I think) for non-members.  I'm a member and frequently take my daughter there.  She loves it!

Right next to the Y is a great diner that could easily accommodate a group.  We could do Family TIme at the Y and then head to the diner for dinner.  What about next Sunday, since most people will have the following Monday off?

WHats up to all the Elite NYC parents out there. I hope everyone had a great weekend and I hope everyone recovered already from Super Bowl Sunday!!!

Now lets get started for our 1st meet up. I have a super time in the short notice meet up at my house and I got a great idea for us to meet up. Instead of meeting at like a place where there will be many many people and many many other children where we can't even talk because we are so worried about out child then its not worth a meet up. So lets brain storm a little bit.

I personaly dont' have much of a social life being a single dad. I work more than full time, I attend school, and give my little one the rest of my time. Therefor leaving me with no friends and no social like.

So with this in mind and I know that I'm not the only one out there in the same shoes here is my idea.

I would like to set up something, where I know that i can leave my little girl playing without me having to make a force field around her protecting her from any dangers that my terrorize me. I want to let her play free, while I chat and talk with other single parents.

Any ideas where we can find something like this???

Its took cold for the park still, I have a 4 year old so the weather is still too cold for my little one. The childrens muesam is packed and I have to constanly keep my eyes on her. A bar...well my little one will get bored too quickly.

So everyone, ideas for us to meet up!? I can suggest my house since I have a huge aparament and my house is very child friendly, but I'm not sure if everyone will feel comfortable with this.

Please any ideas....I would like a place where my little one can play get tired...and I can talk to other single parents. Lets be real, we are all single, we are all in some sort of way trying to just have a great time with other adults. Have some adult time while our little ones are playing in harmony with other children!?

Ok everyone this is our group. Lets Set up 2 day to brain storm. Lets set up something for like Saturday the 14. The day of Friendship and Love. Our little one will be our Valentines, they are our love in our lives,....and we can all make a good friendship!!!!

PS excuss my spelling. I dont' really proff read this and I write slower than what I think.
