10k du Bois de Boulogne

Start your racing year (or career) with this nice small-ish 10k in Bois de Boulogne. (Or perhaps relax after running all those semis and fulls earlier in the year?)

Deep lakes, dark woods, wild animals - it's all waiting for you there to explore!

Also, this race is part of Paris Running Tour challenge, if it tickles your fancy.

If you want to meet before the race to say hi and have a nice group photo while we all still look fresh and cool, let's meet at 9 am at the northern exit from the parking (see the exact spot on the map) next to those logs (around 200 m north from the start line):

Otherwise, let the force be with you! :)

I wanted to meet you but couldn't find the Meet up point. I had a great run - hope you all did, too! A bientôt!

same for me - although for me mostly my fault as i lost my ipod so was a bit distracted atnphoto time. and had to run without music in the end, so i missed even moreso the animations from other races. i agree the start was crazy crowded. wish they had better stagger-started the red green and blue groups. and towards the end of the race some of the turns werent as clear for the slower finishers. but the majority of volunteers were great

I would have liked to meet you all but couldn't find you with all the people there. Maybe next time. Thought it was a nice event.

Great to meet up, and a very pleasant day (at least by the finish, when the sun came out!). I thought it was well organised, though a bit crowded at the start.

True that, the start was more like obstacle racing. Still, great race, weather not that bad after all, and a PB! Was great to meet you all!

  • Janey

what a shame it was so cold & no animations

Great! I had a wonderful time!

Quick question - I'm getting ready for tomorrow and not sure what I can bring. Does anyone know if they have lockers or some sort of vestiaire? Or should I just come prepared to run?

    April 27, 2013

    • Maciej Z

Yes, there will be a place to leave your bag, you will get a tag for it with your number when you collect your dossard.

      April 27, 2013

    • Stephanie

      Thank you!!

considering i had a bit of a nightmare finding the village, here are my tips. go to the hippodrome d'auteil. take the road that goes along the left side of the hippodrome. ask the parking attendant how to proceed from there, based on whether you are i car, on scoot/moto/velo or on foot. there is the retrait des dossards and the space for consigns under white tents

and dont forget to take a copy of your medical certificate. even though is given mine electronically their system didnt theu didnt have it, so lucky i had a paper copy with me

      April 27, 2013

    • Maciej Z

They're asking for an ID too. Although it's still possible to get your dossard even if you don't have it with you...

      April 27, 2013

  • Janey

Is anyone keen to meet together to go pick up dossards on Saturday (late afternoon)?

    April 23, 2013

    • Janey

i'll be stuck at home waiting from the bouygues tecnician at least 14h-16h, so im not confident Maciej

      April 24, 2013

    • Margaret

i'm thinking of picking up my dossard on sunday morning - has anyone done a morning of pickup here?

I plan on arriving early to meet everyone. Really looking forward to this and from the looks of it the weather should be PERFECT!

    April 23, 2013

    • Maciej Z

Fingers crossed! Although looking at the weather forecast at the moment I see rain on Sunday... Good thing I don't trust those forecasts I guess!

As a newbie to Paris (just arrived this week from the US) I am wondering about this medical certificate that is needed for every race, I am so used to just jumping into races. I would love to do this race but don't have a medical certificate yet. Can anyone give me some info on that, I would really appreciate it.

Also, I will likely soon start running again (45 mins approx) some days at lunch break in the Ile Seguin (at the base of the 16th, between Bolugne and Issy Les Moulineaux). Does that work for you?

      April 23, 2013

    • Alicia

Janey, thanks for all the information, this helps a great deal. Let me know when you want to start running again, My kids are in school right now so during the day is perfect for me (unless they are on break)

You'll be fine, I ran my first half marathon after mini flu and did a great time. Adrenalin will boost you. It's all in the mind, especially 10k :)

      April 22, 2013

    • Stephanie

Hey Janey - Happy Birthday! This will be my first 10k too. Looking forward to seeing you out there!

Hi Nadia, I live by Porte d'auteuil, not far from the Bois de Boulogne, depending on which bit you are at I guess, I dont know it that well, bit I would be up for a Wed am run around 9 if that works.....

    April 19, 2013

Have stopped running as much as I used to - hope this race will rekindle my love of running. Would be great to have others to run with during the week (tuesday or wednesday mornings - around 9). I live in Boulogne near the Bois.

Yup, already signed up for that one with TopChrono, I have Bib & Chip - doing SoliRun too

    February 10, 2013

    • Maciej Z

Nah, Soli's not for me - most probably I'll still be dying after Paris FM the weekend before... ;)

Only 10K and no hills? Sounds awesome, Maciej! This was also the first race I ever did in Paris, should be a fun anniversary! :)

    1 · February 10, 2013

    • Maciej Z

Yes, nice and easy. Taking my OH for her first 10k. :) Also, it's almost my anniversary too - my first race in Paris was Courir Ensemble Handicap Iinternational last May...
