Saturday at the Races has been designed with three principles in mind:
- All training is done at Champ de Mars so no one gets dropped.
- All training will include an advanced session (higher pace) and a beginners session. Advanced runners are welcome to attend the beginners session to build fitness.
- A race segment will be included in each session to get the competitive juices flowing.
Session 4 of 8: Sprint Session
If you want to run faster, you have to run fast! Sprinting naturally increases the body's endurance strength, making longer cardio and muscle training sessions easier to complete. We will do a warm up run, followed by 16 sprint sessions (8+8 with a warm up run between for beginners), and a cooldown. The race segment winner is the winner of the LAST sprint! This is a tough workout, so be ready, be challenged, be fast.
As an added bonus, Sharon Bales of Yoga Bija Paris (www.yogabijaparis.com) will host a complimentary 30 minute session to include yoga poses to stretch and strengthen where runners need it the most. A good session to finish sprints. Sign up on the Meet up as well.

Bring an "emergency" gel in case you run out of energy or want to smash a race segment. Bring a couple of euros for an after run cafe stop for some camaraderie if you have the time.
