With AIDS having already claimed countless lives for nearly ten years, Act Up-Paris activists multiply actions to fight general indifference. Nathan, a newcomer to the group, has his world shaken up by Sean, a radical militant.' - Official Synopsis 'What does it take to fight a pandemic? Knowledge, courage and resilience, certainly, but also rough-and-tumble argument, a range of friendships both consoling and abrasive, a healthy sense of gallows humor and soul-sustaining supplies of loud music and louder sex. French writer-director Robin Campillo understands all of this in “BPM (Beats Per Minute),” his sprawling, thrilling, finally heart-bursting group portrait of Parisian AIDS activists in the early 1990s.' - Variety Watch the trailer with English subs here: https://youtu.be/2fhO2A4SL24 - Visages Villages 'Agnes Varda and JR have things in common: their passion for images in general and more particularly questionning the places where they are showed, how they are shared, exposed. Agnès chose cinema. JR chose to create open-air photographic galleries. When Agnès and JR met in 2015, they immediately wanted to work together, shoot a film in France, far from the cities. Random encounters or prepared projects, they will go towards the others and get them to follow them on their trip with JR’s photographic truck. The film is also about their friendship that grows during the shooting, between surprises and malice, laughing of their differences.' - Official synopsis 'There may be an age difference of 50 years between Agnes Varda and photographer/muralist JR, but you wouldn’t know it from their collaboration on 'Faces Places', playing Out of Competition in Cannes. The duo share a puppy dog energy and curiosity about the world that is evident in every frame of this utterly charming road movie documentary. As they travel across France, an ode to their friendship blossoms into a joyful celebration of the urge to create art and the duty to celebrate life.' - Screendaily Watch the trailer with English subtitles here: https://youtu.be/dmHG5HXYc9w Lost in Frenchlation’s mission is simple – we want to bring world-renown French cinema to the international community in Paris by showing French films with English subtitles, and we want to be a hub for the international community to get to know each other as well as native Parisians.
