How long have you been knitting, crocheting or spinning?

I've been knitting since childhood-on and off-and have learned many techniques on my own. A few years ago I took my first formal knitting class and have taken several since. I really enjoy how the classes have built on skills I already had and introduced me to new techniques.

What else do you love besides knitting?

Traveling, skiing, walking and hiking, reading, cooking.

What do you want most out of this group?

Being able to meet people in my neighborhood with similar interests. Sharing project ideas and tips.

How would you describe your knitting/crochet style? (i.e. monogamous or multiple projects on the needles; a process knitter or product oriented)

I typically have multiple projects in the works. Maybe I'll be making an afghan or a sweater, but stop to make some easy gifts like hats or slippers. I love the process more than the finishing, although I'm working on more of a balance between process and product.

Tell us about your current project(s)...

Finishing the last of my Xmas gifts-cowls, hats and fingerless gloves. Then I want to start knitting socks - I've heard they're addictive!

I'm looking forward to continuing to learn new skills and meet more people who share my interests.
