New Meeting: World Wide Knit in Public Day

From: Marina
Sent on: Thursday, May 22, 2008 11:54 AM
Announcing a new meeting for Park Slope Knitting Circle!

What: World Wide Knit in Public Day

When: Saturday, June 14, 1:00 PM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Who should come: Knitters and crocheters itching to do their "string thang" in full view of the public!

Why: WWKIP Day is an annual event designed to encourage public display of knitting (PDK). Here's your chance to get out there and risk being asked what you are doing with all that yarn!

Meeting Description: The front steps are a fun gathering place (considered by the plaza architects of the plaza to be Brooklyn's front yard.) Ya gotz broad steps, dancing water, benches with shade, and lots of coming and going.

Bring your knitting project, and if you wish, the following: sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, camera, bottled water, a snack, and maybe even a cushion for your tushie!

Hey, we're gonna extend the invite to the other Brooklyn based Knitting Meetups. And the notice will be posted on Ravelry. Shout out to all knitters you know, let's get the attendance way up on this event!

PS: We don't have a back up plan in the event of rain, but hope to have one once we get a sense of how many will attend! So please RSVP, thanks!! If you belong to more than one Brooklyn based Knitting Meetup, please RSVP 'yes' to only one, so we can get an accurate count.
