The Abruzzo and Molise Heritage Society (AMHS) has invited us to an excellent event taking place at Casa Italiana in September. Dr. Matthew Bell and Mr. Leonardo Varone, both noted architects, collaborate in the ongoing Italian-American consortium through the University of Maryland and the non-profit archaeological entity, the Restoring Ancient Stabiae Foundation. This most innovative project focuses on the excavation, restoration and rebuilding of a complex of Roman villas that have uncovered treasures beyond the findings unearthed at Herculaneum and Pompeii. Come and learn about the recent discoveries at one of the most unusual archaeological sites in the world. This unique program is available only to AMHS members and their guests (including members of Passatempo), so please reserve early for this event!
Menu: Vegetable Lasagna and Sausage, Peppers and Onions to be provided by Carmine’s Ristorante, Washington, DC. Beverages, mixed green salad and dessert are included.
To pay for reservation, send check payable to AMHS c/o Joe Novello, 7035 Hunter Lane, Hyattsville, MD 20782 before September 18, 2013.
