What else would you like to tell our group about yourself?

It is only fair to warn you that the major political, social and educational influences in my life are the Marx Brothers and Monty Python's Flying Circus.

How did you learn about our group?

From the website. Just for the heck of it I ran a search on "Italian" and "Washington, DC." And now...eccome.

What is your favorite Italian book, author, film, song, musician, food and/or city?

Book: Any of Andrea Camilleri's "Commissario Montalbano" series. Film: Pane e Tulipane. Musician: Eros Ramazzotti. Food: It is humanly impossible to pick only one dish. City: TBD

At what level do you speak Italian and do you speak other languages?

I grew up around adults who spoke Sicilian but they never taught to my generation. I studied Spanish in H.S. and college and several years ago I finally started to teach myself la bella lingua. I'm competent but far from fluent.

What kinds of events would you most enjoy?

Ciao! Mi chiamo Ray McInerney I'm married and have 3 kids. I live in Maryland and work in DC for a national education organization. If I'm not bankrupt after paying college tuitions, I hope to finally visit Italy before I collect Soc. Security.

What Ray M. is saying about this Meetup Group

I didn't know the other people in the group that attended the event. It would be nice if there was some subtle but distinctive way (a pin or button perhaps) to know who is part of the group.
