Hello everyone:

LAPUG MEETUP 48 will take place next Wednesday October 24, 2012. Doors open at 7:00pm. The program will start at 7:30pm and will end at 10:00pm.

Our meeting's location will be:

This MeetUp will be limited to 50 LAPUG, AUG and PDALA Meetup Members only (First come, first served*) - Deadline to RSVP is Wednesday October 24 at 2:00pm. Online RSVPs are required to attend this meeting (see below for RSVP instructions). We will open the meeting to guests starting on Monday October 22 at 12pm (if seats are available).

We welcome this month a LAPUG Member and first-time LAPUG Presenter, Hopper Stone, who will show us fundamental Photoshop techniques as well as how he uses the Nik Software Suite to enhance Portrait, Food and Architecture photography.






Hopper Stone has been a professional photographer since 1988. He started his career in Europe as a photojournalist, eventually making his way to Mexico City for the Black Star photo agency. He moved to Los Angeles in 1997 and has been working in the film and TV industries as a set photographer. He also shoots regularly for Chef Masaharu Morimoto’s restaurants.

Hopper is a member of both the Cinematographers Guild and the Society of Motion Picture Still Photographers. He is also the recipient of the 2012 Publicists Guild Award for Achievement in Unit Still Photography for TV.

Hopper will be covering use of layers and blend modes in Photoshop to help enhance your photos, especially portraits.

Hopper will also show real world examples of how he used the Nik software suite (Color Efex Pro, Viveza 2, HDR Efex Pro and Silver Efex Pro 2) in order to finish up a lot of photos shot on location when no extra lighting or assistants were available (Architecture, Food and Portrait Photography).
