was chosen over a large number of entrants for her first prize award, we are very happy for win.
The International Photography Awards To salute the achievements of the world's finest photographers, to discover new and emerging talent, and to promote the appreciation of photography.
IPA invites passionate photographers, professionals and non-professionals alike, to compete for the title of International Photographer of the Year. The competition is judged by a board of esteemed photo editors, curators, gallery owners, art directors and other luminaries from the international photography community. The award includes a Lucie and a $10,000 grand prize. In an effort to cultivate and showcase emerging talent, all non-professional entries are also eligible for the Discovery of the Year Award, lauding best up-and-coming artist, which includes a Lucie and a $5,000 cash prize.

Take a Picture, Tell Your Story
Tell us, in photos or words, about your school building ? what you are proud of and what you?d like to see changed. Be a detective, documenting and showing the world the good, bad and even the funny dimensions of your school building.
Your images and words will help raise awareness of the need for high quality school buildings for all students, teachers and communities.
Prizes & Exhibit in Washington, DC. Selected photos and stories from students and teachers will be shown at a special exhibition in Washington, DC. Many more entries will be published in a Through Your Lens book and in an online gallery. Five student winners will also receive a Vado pocket video camcorder from Creative Labs.
Who is eligible? The contest is open to students, teachers, school staff, parents, nurses and all members of the school community. Students and teachers are especially encouraged to enter! All submissions will be eligible for selection for the Capitol building exhibit, the Through Your Lens book and the online gallery. In addition, students are eligible to win one of five pocket camcorders!

Another Big layoff of Photographers this time it's in San Diego California.
The Union Tribune will be laying off four photojournalists, and a number of other employees at the paper.
