Foodie book club

I just joined this group, sorry if this had already been done...
Is anyone interested in a book club based on reading food related books? We could read a book and then have a potluck where we bring dishes that are mentioned in the book, or related to the book.

Potential reading list:
Animal, Vegetable Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver
Salt: A World History by Mark Kurlansky
The Man Who Ate Everything by Jeffrey Steingarten
and many other books, these are just a few that come to mind :)

Some friends have a kinda-sorta food book club. They read the standard book club fare, but always select books where food is an important element of at least one part of the story. Then the menu for that month's meeting is based on that particular meal or cuisine. They've been doing this for years, and I recently enjoyed leftovers from a meeting where the book was set in Africa - yum!
