What games are your current favorite?

Depends on my mood. Evo and Kill Dr. Lucky are easy to teach new players. Bang! and Bohnanza are light and quick once you get everyone on the same page. Pandemic is fun but I get tired of coop play after a few games. Powergrid and Roborally are probably my favorites, but it's hard to get people to play. I liked El Grande the time I played it but haven't had another chance.

What games do you avoid?

Diplomacy. It is probably one of the best games ever, but requires too much commitment of both time and emotion. I've seen friendships end over a game. I also tend to avoid games with an overabundance of dice-rolling (unless they are pure dice-rolling games like cosmic wimpout) like Risk.

I like most mid-weight euro-style games, with the occasional war-type game thrown in. Since my old game group fell apart, I've found myself more collector than gamer, which I'd like to change. Typical: Evo, Settlers, Pandemic, Roborally, Crayon Rails
