Discover a whole ecosystem of open source software for accomplishing just about any task on your computer for free! Attending this workshop could save your nonprofit agency thousands of dollars.
Noah Kleiman of Secret Knowledge (http://www.secretknowledge.org/) will take you on a whirlwind software safari focusing on applications useful to nonprofit staff. Including, but not limited to: Photo Editors (think "free Photoshop"), Desktop Publishing (think "free Indesign"), Vector Graphics (think "free Illustrator"), Word processing, and spreadsheet applications (free "Office"). Noah will invite attendee requests, perform impromptu demonstrations, and offer relentlessly practical advice.
Noah Kleiman, Executive Director/Founder, Secret Knowledge, has an uncanny ability to tap into the education needs of creative people. In 2003 Noah started Old Library Studio, Portland’s nonprofit music recording studio for teens which soon grew from an after-school program into public school classrooms and programs for at risk teens. Willamette Week awarded Noah the Skidmore Prize in 2006.
Kleiman’s new nonprofit adventure, Secret Knowledge, aims to help creative working people gain the technical and business skills they need to make their living working as independent artists and to provide engaging cultural experiences for Portland’s creative audiences.
