Tougher Walk to Black Hill and Saddleworth Moor

This is not one for the faint hearted but hopefully we shall be blessed with some fine weather which will bring out the best of this fantastic location. When we turn off the path into open country it is another world.

Full distance is around 13 tough miles although this can be shortened if necessary.

A camera, sense of humour and plenty of snacks and drinks are essential but when we make our way back to the Dog and Patridge for an apres walk bevy it will all be worthwhile.

Sadly the Crowden YHA which is in a perfect location for this awesome walking area closes I think for good on the 31st March.

Accommodation for those interested in a further toughie the following day will need to find a B&B in Glossop or around Langsett. There are some pubs with rooms but they tend to be very pricey.

There is a campsite at Crowden which is pretty basic but I may well use this myself and can provide tents if some of you want to camp but don't have one.

We'd suggest you DON'T tackle this one unless you have previous experience of hill walking.

Great weather for this very tough walk in wild and untamed countryside. Excellent company too.

Thank you Gordon for a very challenging walk! It will sit in my memory for years to come! I really did enjoy it though. It was lovely to meet Hannah again, and to meet up with my walking buddy Donna. See you all soon xx

I wouldn't normally ask but would it be possible to bring a plus 1 on this maybe? Cheers

No problem anytime Hannah but only on this one as long as they know it's a toughie and are up for it.
