Come join me for a "Tour of Huddart Park".
This hike offers meandering trails through the core of the park under mostly shaded trails. Views of the bay as well as some old growth forest remnants.
The trails we use are well maintained and wide, offering easy footing and gentle uphill hiking. During the rainy season there are lots of additional features in nature including Banana Slugs, Newts, and Fungus. In spring there are Orchids and Roses.
This is my favorite place to hike on this side of the Santa Cruz Mountains that is easily accessible and relatively close to San Francisco.
The park is located in Woodside, CA just off the 280 Fwy.
Optionally meet at the park and ride (just off the 280) at Woodside Road or at the Woodside Elementary School located at 3195 Woodside Road so that you can carpool together into the park and save paying multiple parking fees.
This hike will take us on a climb of approximately 1000 feet starting near the entrance of the park and all the way up to Skyline Blvd, where we will cross skyline blvd into Purisima Creek Redwoods, OSP and have lunch.
We will depart at 10:00am The distance of this hike is around 8 miles, depending on the temperature it could be a litter shorter.
I recommend carpooling to save on gas.
Bring food and water.
No dogs allowed in the park.
