What we're about

Writing a novel? Writing a short story? Writing a Screenplay?Writing Poetry? Whatever you are working on this is a true writer's group. A writer's community. A writer's club. But above all this is a writer's rock, a solid landing pad to launch any creative work.

PenPaperWrite provides writers with the tools that they need to write those two simple, yet powerful words: "The End."

We meet the first and third Monday of every month and provide a dynamic and respectful environment for you to share your work and gather feedback from other writers. If you’re not quite ready to share your work, you may choose to listen to others and give your comments. And although we encourage participation, you’re welcome to simply observe. We also offer Saturday and online workshops that teach our 60 Scenes Writing Method.

The purpose of PenPaperWrite is to provide you with tools to help you finish your story and make it as dynamic and robust as possible in the process. In doing so, we provide the following:

• The PenPaperWrite 60 Scenes 1 Day Workshop, an intense six-hour workshop which covers storyboarding, scenes, moving characters through external and internal arcs, and much more. Find out more and 60 Scenes 1 Day Workshop (http://www.60scenes.com) Register Here. (http://www.60scenes.com) (This workshop is separate from our regular Monday meetings.)

• Writing "games" at the start of each Monday Meetup to stimulate conversation and creativity

• A growing community of supportive, dedicated writers who are on the same path as you

• We encourage our members to sign up for our mailing list to receive weekly articles and notifications about upcoming workshops. Our signup is available here. (https://penpaperwrite.com/join-our-community/)

Without support from others it can feel like writing in a vacuum. Don’t suffocate. Join us and breathe.

Meetup: In A Word (Or Maybe Two)

Marlow's Tavern

$2.00

A single word can convey a lot of things that the use of entire sentences might serve only to obscure. Things like context, mood, and motive are but a few examples. Join us for a fun exercise in creative brevity! Before we start our regular Meet up there is always a writing 'game' that offers a way to understand some aspect of writing in a challenging and interactive way. If you haven't made it to this group, try it out, it might be the group of writers you've been looking for. We want to put you at ease and motivate you to finish writing whatever it is locked in your head whether you write poetry, fiction, non-fiction, screenplays, plays, short stories or scribble on napkins. Don't be shy. See you here! Christina
