Please acknowledge that you will give real consideration to the following questions. We are a group of writers that are serious about establishing writing goals and actively working toward those goals and we are seeking more of the same.

What genres do you like? Who are your favorite writers?

Creative nonfiction. Pete Hamill. Tom Wolfe. John Irving. Phillip Roth. David Guterson

Have you chosen a particular genre? Format? Please elaborate: (I write short story horror, poety, romance novels, etc)

I kept a blog for about five years. It intertwined political, religious, and cultural issues--typically with a humorous bent. I had fun with a very Frankenstein-ian connecting seemingly disparate issues. My real work, my life's work, still resides in the much more serious story I spend five years wholly invested in writing. It is autobiographical and works around the theme that everything happens for a reason. Events that caused me to totally rethink my reason for living eventually drove me to devote all I had to writing. I wrote fiction because I thought that was a disarming way of telling a very intensive and subjective story. In review, I now believe I should have written in my creative nonfiction voice Determining the structure is what I am looking to do. I also have a handful of stories--some fiction, most creative nonfiction that are in the voice I'd like to re-write my opus in.

If you could write your short bio on a book jacket, what would it say?

A thinker, a wander, a person who cares deeply about purpose. Dan has held a variety of jobs, but his calling is to share the stories given to him.

Introduction

I have always been a writer. Over 25 years, I have given it varying amounts of time and energy. At times being totally invested; other times totally blocked. There is work I have to do. I'm looking to gear back up.
