2 day Permaculture Food Forest Design workshop
in New Orleans Sat.October 25th and Sun.26th 2014. from 10 to 4h30 approximately.
What is a food forest?
A food forest is a low maintenance edible landscape (if you design it well and after a few seasons)for your backyard or your empty lot that yields lots of food.
It includes mostly perennial plants,fruit and nut trees by focusing on guilds,companion planting ,your local climate and uses the layered design of a forest.
Come learn how to get started on your own food forest by learning about Permaculture, guilds and with hands on techniques for maximum yield such as berm,swales and more!
The course facilitator is Theron Beaudreau who is a Permaculture Diploma Mentor with Gaia University and Registered as a Permaculture Design Certificate Teacher through the Permaculture Research Institute of Australia. Theron has over 10 years of experience in permaculture design.

Courses will be held indoors and outdoors at The Maison bleu @ N. Robertson and St. Anthony as well as at the Acorn farm in the lower 9 th.
Exact locations will be shared when we know the number of participants as it might alter the class location for the indoor class only.
Cost is donation based with a suggested donation of $40 with a few shcolarships available and a non refundable deposit of $20.
The hands on workday will include a lunch as well.
