TWO-DAY BIOGAS WORKSHOP (SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE!)
BIOGAS is a Renewable Energy Technology used to convert waste products into fuel
This workshop is appropriate for ANYONE with an interest in this appropriate technology which enables conversion of waste (kitchen scraps, manure, leaf litter, etc.) into a usable fuel for farms, restaurants, schools, businesses & homes.
David House, author of The Complete Biogas Handbook (http://completebiogas.com/classes.html), will lead a two day workshop on the subject of small & medium scale biogas production
Participants need not have any previous experience
Participants receive a copy of The Complete Biogas Handbook (http://www.completebiogas.com/), a CD loaded with additional information, and will MAKE AND TAKE a 200 gallon digester, the right size for producing most or all of ones cooking fuel!

SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE TO PA RESIDENTS through a grant from the The Chester Co. Economic Development Council's (CCEDC) SE PA AGRICULTURE PARTNERSHIP (http://www.cceconomicdevelopment.com/services.html): (*75% fee reduction available for PA residents now working in/wanting to break into the food and/or agriculture sectors) Those qualifying for the reduced fees pay $87.50 for the full workshop TEACHERS of all kinds are encouraged to apply as well. ALL PA RESIDENTS 18 and over ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY if paying the full registration fee would be too much of a hardship.... (These funds are available in order to make this appropriate technology available to all who will/may use the technology to help grow our economy at some point in the future.) (INSTRUCTIONS: Click on the GRANT APPLICATION ABOVE - Both forms need to be completed. If you are applying as an individual not affiliated with a company/farm/ed. institution, please complete as much information as possible and sign the form - send BOTH completed documents to CCEDC by fax or email as instructed on the grant announcement.
Once Eastern PA Permaculture Guild has been notified by CCEDC of your grant award, you will receive an email and, having already paid the remaining 25% in the form of your registration deposit ($87.50), you will be paid in full.
Those NOT qualifying for the grant funding will receive an email requesting the balance of the workshop fee to be paid before Oct. 5, 2010.
FEE = $350 for two full days, those qualifying for the scholarship (see information above) pay only $87.50
ORGANIC MEALS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE both days of the workshop - enjoy food made by 'Food For Thought' (http://kimberton.org/about/food-for-thought) with ingredients from the Kimberton Waldorf School’s own biodynamic Garden!
LEARN THE BASICS OF PRODUCING BIOGAS, a renewable energy source that just about anyone can utilize. Through anaerobic digestion, waste materials can be easily be converted into a source of fuel for heating or cooking, etc.
Make and Take your own 200 gallon Biodigester and gain the knowledge to implement this technology on a larger scale
