Tried to get there over the Memorial Day Weekend, but things did not quite go as well as I hoped they would, so we never made it. This time it's the Museum first, then lunch somewhere afterwards.
The Air Mobility Command Museum (http://amcmuseum.org/exhibits_and_planes/) located at The Air Force Base in Dover, DE has both indoor and outdoor exhibits dedicated to the refueling and cargo handling capabilities of the USAF and the planes that have done those jobs both past and present.
We'll gather at The Corner Bakery at 8:15AM. Leaving at 9:00AM for what will be a 2 1/2 to 3 hour ride which will include a pit stop along the way. Traveling south on scenic Rt 9 which will take us right to the gate. So if your planning on joining in, please be on time with a full tank of gas.
There is no admission fee for the Museum, though donations are gratefully accepted. (Pretty cool where the donation goes)
Hope you can make it
The Corner Bakery is in the same building as Maggiano's Restaurant (which shows on Google Maps if you zoom in enough). It is behind the Crate and Barrel Store which is located on the corner of North Gulph Road and Mall Blvd.
Also, if you plan on bring a passenger. Please do not use the "plus one" option when you rsvp as meetup counts that as you bringing a second rider with you
Please click HERE (http://goo.gl/maps/PSJhr) for a Google Map of the route down
By Law in DE. You and any passenger must have a Helmet with you. You don't have to wear it. Just have it with you.
