What book would you recommend for H&WR?

I would love an excuse to read more Nabokov (i.e., anything besides Lolita and Pale Fire, though I have to admit Pale Fire would make a fantastic book club selection).

What's your favorite book?

Here are a few: Pale Fire; Arcadia; Translations; Madame; Unlikely Stories, Mostly; An Anthropologist on Mars; Ella Minnow Pea; Tess of the D'Urbervilles; The Arm of the Starfish

What book do you love but you're afraid to admit it?

When I was in junior high, I loved reading the Dragonriders of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey. I re-read some of them a few years ago, and while they're definitely trashy and poorly written, the stories are really engaging & a total guilty pleasure.

I used to come to our meetups every month. Now I live in Chicago so I don't make it quite as often as I used to.
