Introduction

Having not yet entirely succumbed to John Gray’s grim logic in "Straw Dogs" that "the examined life may not be worth living," I find engaging in philosophical analysis a raison d'être right up there with art, sex and wine. So viva philosophy meetups!

What a delight to have the opportunity to spend a few hours in a casual setting discussing ideas solely for the pleasure of the intellectual exchange with other similarly inclined humans. The moderator does a remarkable job of keeping the exchanges lively, inclusive and mostly on the defined topic of the day with divurgations off topic tending to be gently guided, affably tolerated and equally stimulating. Bravo to a superbly conceived and well-executed endeavor!
