This group is intended for all of those in the Boston and Providence area who are interested in the intersections of Philosophy of Mind and puppetry. Meetings will take place in either Attleboro or Brookline Village, depending on the date of the meeting and venue availability.
Led by Philosopher and Puppet Showplace Managing Director Daniel D., this group will explore the many aspects of Philosophy of Mind and Ontology including the ways in which puppets either help to support or to disprove the theory of dualism.
How do puppetry, masks, and related art forms intersect with philosophy? What is their role in solving the problem of mind-body dualism? Do puppets play a role in shaping our social conscious? These (and others) are the questions that we will attempt to answer. We will also tackle other ontological and social issues and possibly publish material that comes out of our meetings.
The group convenes on the second Sunday of each month.
