Your organization or cause -- what are you passionate about?

Have you used technology for social change? If not, do you have plans/ideas/dreams about how you want to use it?

My plan is for LocalArtsLive, which uses a variety of technology along with old fashioned face-to-face meetings, to increase interest and attendance of classical music events. Especially with younger and more diverse audiences. I hope that the social tools, which help people to connect, also break down some barriers and give audiences a more personal connection to the musicians and organizations.

What cool examples of technology for social change have you encountered?

My website is based on Ning, which is a bit like Facebook but with individual, customizable networks. I'm also using, which assembles a "newspaper" based on the URLS in tweets in a list I created. Very cool, and it's free! See the Weekly paper on

I'm a life long geek but grew weary of corporate data centers so now I'm trying my hand at technology and connections in the cultural arts. It's a lot of fun, so far!
