Last Reminder and New News about this week’s Net Tuesday on CMS’s for Nonprofits

Well, this is the last reminder about the upcoming Philly Net Tuesday about website platforms (CMS's) for nonprofits and activists -- Tuesday night (April 3), gathering at 6:00 PM at the Friends Center, 1501 Cherry Street.

Please try to get there on time, because we plan to be underway by 6:20 promptly, and we have a full agenda. And that's the other news… Added to our agenda will be a presentation on Apostrophe, the CMS recently created in Philadelphia by P'unk Avenue, and being used by a number of local nonprofits and colleges. So, in addition to gaining insight into the relative merits of "established" CMS's like Drupal, WordPress, Google Sites and Omeka, you'll also hear first-hand from the one of the creators of an up-and-coming home-grown CMS. Links to more information about all of these platforms, as well as to examples of how they're being used today by organizations for social good, can be found on the Meetup event page. RSVP's are appreciated for planning purposes, but not required – we'd rather have you there.

Oh, and one more thing… Thanks to the generosity of the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, early arrivals will be able to pick up a free printout of Idealware's 82-page report comparing open source CMS's.

This is going to be a great opportunity for learning about some premiere website platforms, and how they are being used effectively by nonprofits – locally and globally.

Hope to see you there.
