Dear Net Tuesday Meetup members who were unable to attend our first meeting,

Well, our inaugural meeting came and went, and seemed to be a big success for a first meeting. The 30 attendees came with different (or unclear) expectations, but most people seemed to have an open mind about this experimental process and enjoyed meeting one another. The two presentations were very well received, and video and audio recordings of them will be posted onto the Philly NetSquared blog (http://phillynet2.wor...) in the near future.

Although you weren?t able to attend this meeting, we?ll be having more meetings on the first Tuesday of every month (June 3 is next). But this process of connecting with other folks in the Philadelphia area interested in using the web and social software for social change doesn?t have to happen just in face-to-face gatherings.

Below are listed a number of ways that we can stay connected outside of meetings.

? Google Group: Join the new Philly NetSquared Google Group and share announcements of relevant events and resources, requests for assistance, feedback for ideas, etc. The Google Group page can be found at:.

? Philly NetSquared blog: Our blog (at) will be a place to find more information about NetSquared.

? Resource/Skill/Idea connections: Actually, this isn?t invented yet. We?d like to set up a convenient, flexible way for any of us to find others based upon some sort of need or desire. We are a broad collection of activists, techies, visionaries, managers, funders, entrepreneurs, consultants, dreamers, devil?s advocates, etc. Let?s create a way for any of us to quickly and effectively identify and find one another to advance our respective agendas. If you have idea about this, or want to work on it, please let us know.

? PhillyNet2 tag: We?re starting to use phillynet2 as a tag for items of interest to the group. If you use, for instance, you can help by using this tag for your organization?s own website, your blog, etc. And check out or subscribe to the tag on various sites.

? Facebook: Check out http://www.facebook.c....

? MySpace: Check out.

? LinkedIn: I?m not exactly sure how to find it from scratch, but if you go to my public profile (http://www.linkedin.c..., and click on the Philly NetSquared icon, you will be offered a chance to join the group.

And, as far as future Net Tuesday meetings:

? Save the Date: Our next gathering will be Tuesday, June 3 @ 6:30. Details to be announced.

? Presenters: Interested in sharing how you?re using the Web or social tools for your cause at a future Net Tuesday? (Or know someone else who is?) Please let us know.

? Sponsors: We?re seeking people or organizations to sponsor future meetings. Our costs for the venue and supplies is currently set at $150. For sponsoring a meeting, we?ll be happy to recognize you on materials and mailings, and you can address the meeting, distribute your literature and have the good feeling of making this wonderful event possible.

? Organizing Group: We can use more people to help think about future meetings as well as the out-of-meeting tools and services we?re developing. Please join us in making it all happen.

If you have any questions, problems or ideas, please don?t hesitate to let me know.

Looking forward to creating connections, one way or the other.
