These visualizations make use of declarative widgets and significantly reduce the amount of code needed to implement user interactions. In addition, the same code is used to run visualizations within Jupyter Notebooks environment, and as a stand-alone web application. ### Fun with word vectors by: Ryan Hinkel and Patrick Smith This talk will begin with a high level explanation of why “words” can be represented as [[masked]e-02,[masked]e-01,... • July Front-end/UX Meetup

    CandiDate / Industrious Office

Talks: Lean Design: Focus on Creating Experiences and Value, not Features Joel Eden, Senior UX Product Manager at Checkpoint Systems It's easy to focus too much on features, products, code, velocity, and other seemingly "tangible" outputs. I'll be sharing concepts at the intersection of human centered design and lean (startup). A Lean Design mindset enables us to focus instead on validating our product and service idea assumptions faster and cheaper, often without having to create costly tangible outputs. Bio: Joel Eden is a Senior UX Product Manager at Checkpoint Systems. He recently moved back from California where he was a Design Researcher at Google, and a Senior Interaction Designer at Disney Animation Studios working on animation and story tools (with credits on Frozen and Big Hero 6). He earned a bachelor's degree in computer science, and a PhD in information science (focusing on HCI), both at Drexel University.
